Dr. Richard C Vang

Author

Richard Chao Vang, also known as Richard C. Vang or Honorable Tswv Chao Vang, is a dedicated entrepreneur and community leader. He owns multiple businesses, including Highlander Home Health Care LLC, Honest First Personal Care LLC, and Tswv Chao Vang Center, which focus on healthcare and real estate. Additionally, he serves as a Lieutenant General and Commanding General in the United States National Defense Force Support Command.

Born in 1966 to 1Lt. Chue Vang, a Royal Lao Special Force commander under General Vang Pao, Richard endured a challenging childhood. At age nine, he was recruited as a young soldier in Laos, assisting in food, water, and messenger services. In 1979, he and his family fled communist persecution, surviving a perilous journey through the jungle and across the Mekong River into Thailand.

In Thai refugee camps, Richard worked with the UN and US agencies, helping resettle refugees. Arriving in the US in 1989, he quickly adapted, purchasing a home within a year. He contributed to numerous community initiatives, including job training, social services, and healthcare access. His business ventures, particularly in home healthcare, have created jobs and provided essential services for the elderly and disabled.

Richard’s dedication to service and business excellence has earned him awards, including the Business Champion Award from the Hmong Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin. Through his work, he continues to uplift communities and foster opportunities for those in need.
