A graduate of REC Rourkela (now NIT Rourkela), he specialized in Industrial Power, Control & Drives and later expanded his expertise with an MBA in Human Resource Management from SMU and an Executive Programme in HRM from IIM Calcutta. During his tenure at Rourkela Steel Plant (SAIL), Sagar Mohanty held various leadership roles, eventually serving as General Manager In-Charge of CPTI (HRD) & TIIR-NIT Coordination. His influence also reached academia, where he lectured at CET Bhubaneswar and the Central Power Training Institute, SAIL.
