With over 32 years of experience in Steel and Power Plant Operations & Maintenance, he has made significant contributions to both the corporate and academic sectors. A graduate of REC Rourkela (now NIT Rourkela), he specialized in Industrial Power, Control & Drives and later expanded his expertise with an MBA in Human Resource Management from SMU and an Executive Programme in HRM from IIM Calcutta. His passion for training and development is evident in his certification as a trainer from the Management Training Institute, SAIL.
During his tenure at Rourkela Steel Plant (SAIL), Sagar Mohanty held various leadership roles, eventually serving as General Manager In-Charge of CPTI (HRD) & TIIR-NIT Coordination. His impact extended beyond operations, as he actively contributed to faculty training programs, corporate workshops, and research publications. His influence also reached academia, where he lectured at CET Bhubaneswar and the Central Power Training Institute, SAIL. Recognized as a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India) and a Chartered Engineer, his work has earned him prestigious accolades, including the Dr. Abel Wolman Gold Medal Award and the Madhusudan Memorial Award.
